Meet Lauren Stockton, our 2017 Head Coach!

Lauren Stockton

Lauren Stockton is a May 2017 graduate of Southern Illinois University where she earned her dual degree in Finance and Business Economics. She recently retired from her swimming career of 16 years, after four years of competing for the SIUC Saluki Swim and Dive Team. During her time at Southern Lauren specialized in distance training, with her best event being the 1650 Freestyle. She served two years as captain of the Saluki swim team, is a three-time MVC first team all-conference swimmer, and is a four-time MVC scholar-athlete.

Jamie Willis, Assistant Coach

My swimming career has span over almost 12 years, starting as a Water Jet. I have participated on this team each summer since. I am ecstatic to have the opportunity to share my knowledge of the sport with younger swimmers!

Throughout my high school career, I was a varsity member of Washington’s team. Additionally, in 2015 and 2016, I was a member of Peoria Area Water Wizards club team. During these seasons, I specialized in butterfly and sprint freestyle. These events continue to be my favorites.

After graduating high school in May, I will be attending Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, with plans to major in Environmental Sciences. Although SIUE does not have a swim team, I plan to utilize their pool to continue my favorite pastime.

Sydney Ksycki, Assistant Coach

I am currently a student majoring in Music Business. I started swimming with the Water Jets at age nine. I was on the High School swim team for four years and was team captain my senior year. I returned last year to WCHS to be an assistant coach for the girls swim team. I am very excited to coach along side Lauren, my friend and fellow team mate of many years.

Joe Schwegel, Jr. Assistant Coach

My name is Joe Schwegel. I live in Peoria and attend Peoria Notre Dame High School. I have two sisters and a big dog named Moose. I have been swimming since I was little. I have swam at the YMCA, PAWW, and DOCS. I am also a member of the PND swim team. I am passionate about swimming and can’t wait to be a part of the Washington Water Jets!
